Oh dammit

http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/jan/16/rumpole-john-mortimer-dies

Mortimer was a major part of what you might call my adult literary life.  The Rumpole books were some of the first "grown-up" mysteries I read after I'd graduated from Agatha Christie as a teenager.  And I've been reading them ever since.

I'm bummed, now.

*patting hand* Sorry. I remember being all bummed out when Cary Grant died. My mother actually called me to say sorry back then.

(Have I mentioned I may have had an unhealthy fascination with Singing In The Rain as a kid?)
