*shivers*

Damn, it's cold in here! You know how I've mentioned, from time to time, how bloody hot it's been up here in the Reference department? I take it back. (Well, mostly....) This morning the HVAC guys arrived to kick the central air into gear, and they've been letting it run in order to... well, I dunno why, exactly. And the filters haven't been cleaned since last year. And I'm already in the midst of a massive allergy attack, so I'm not a happy Jenni right now. :-P

Actually, I'd go home sick if it weren't for the fact that Mom & Dad had an appointment w/ Dad's oncologist this morning to discuss his "options" (pfft!). Yes, I'm a coward, and I'm cold & sneezy, but work is still much more relaxing at the moment.

On the plus side (yes, I do have one, why do you ask?), the dog is doing much better, & I've got Alan Gordon's "The Lark's Lament" to read.  I think mitchy and I may have mentioned this series before.  If not, we've been very, very remiss.  *hangs head*  They're wonderful medieval mysteries with lots of espionage & humor, originally taking their cue from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, but now going way beyond that.  Go.  Read.  Now.  Start with Thirteenth Night so you know what's going on.  Avoid An Antic Disposition if you can; it gives a lot of the main character's background, but is depressing as hell - it's based on Hamlet.

Damn, those must be some good books. *makes note* I must be a masochist, 'cos I wouldn't avoid the Hamlet-based one; I love Hamlet.

*ponders* Yes, I must be some sort of masochist, 'cos whatever makes me love Hamlet also makes me love Thomas Hardy.

I am a sick, sick woman...
